PS is extracted from porcine lung. It is composed of 99% polar lipids and 1% apoproteins. The phospholipid component consists primarily of phosphatidylcholine and its derivatives. It is indicated in treatment of respiratory distress syndrome.


Defibrase is extracted from Agkistrodon actum venom. It is a serine proteinase and has defibrinogenation effects on peripheral circulation and on experimental glomerulonephritis. It is indicated as anticoagulant.
